The Manitoba Women’s Enterprise Centre, operating as WeMB, is pleased to announce Tracey Maconachie will be taking over the role of CEO starting February 3, 2025.
Ms. Maconachie brings an extensive portfolio of experience, combining entrepreneurial leadership, government expertise, and strategic advisory roles. She founded and led Tipping Point Consulting, a firm specializing in strategic stakeholder engagement and executive leadership. In this capacity, she has guided numerous international startups as a fractional Chief Executive Officer, helping them navigate complex challenges and achieve sustainable growth.
During her distinguished career she served in several senior roles within the Government of Manitoba, including the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Jobs. Additionally, Ms. Maconachie was President of Bioscience Association Manitoba from 2010 to 2020, where she championed innovation and growth in the bioscience sector.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tracey Maconachie to the WeMB team,” said Bonnie Chwartacki, Chair of the Board for WeMB. “Throughout her career, she has built strong relationships and implemented strategic plans that have advanced the goals of the organizations she’s worked for. We strongly believe these skills and her deep connections to the community will strengthen and support WeMB’s vision, mission, and values.”
Ms. Maconachie joins WeMB as the outgoing CEO, Max Kashton, steps down after three years with the organization. Ms. Kashton has led WeMB through several positive changes over her tenure including the creation of a three-year strategic plan (2024-2026), a re-brand, and a successful 30-year celebration milestone.
“As a Board, we are incredibly grateful for Max’s commitment to WeMB and all the work she has done for and with the organization,” continued Ms. Chwartacki. “Her commitment to the staff, clients, and partners of WeMB has been paramount in driving it forward and solidifying WeMB as a key member of the economic landscape here in Manitoba.”
